Desert Pocket Mouse

(Chaetodipus penicillatus)

Description:

This mouse is very similar to the Long-Tailed Pocket Mouse. Subtle ear shape and size are one of the keys to distinquishing the two species. Near Cottonwood Spring in southern Joshua Tree National Park. Riverside County California.
