Pillar Rock

(Scenery)

Description:

Pillar Rock sits just off shore from Cape Meares, and hosts sea birds. Until the recent success of Bald Eagles on the coast, it was a nest site for Common Murres and other sea birds, but when the eagles fly over, the parent birds leave the nest, and gulls, crows, and ravens attack the chicks. No broods have been raised here in several years.
