May 2nd and it’s over 100°F at 8am. There were a few birds out and active, but I didn’t fare so well. I trekked into a cottonwood stand and found a few shy birds and more than a few not-so-shy mosquitoes, so I cut my visit short. Birds I managed to capture were Bell’s Vireo (decent shots) and Ladder-Backed Woodpecker (pretty good shots).
