Genus Chaetodipus and Perognathus

Chaetodipus and Perognathus mice, called pocket mice, are native to the USA and Mexico. They differ from Peromyscus mice in several ways; their ears are smaller, they are stockier with not-so-obvious necks, and their fur is adorned with long spiky hairs that often gives them a ‘porcupine’ look.
