2020-12-22 Bosque’s Other Birds
Even when geese and cranes aren’t present, there are many forms of wildlife here. Some forms are cryptic and difficult to see (Mountain Lions and Bobcats, for example). Mule Deer roam the grounds, as do eagles and other raptors. I am equally entertained by the larks, flycatchers, sparrows, and pipits. Migration brings the possibility of shorebirds, pelicans, and various songbirds. Summers can reward the curious with Vermillion Flycatchers, grosbeaks, and waterfowl. The gallery below shows those non-geese, non-crane species I met in the few hours I spent on this December day.
